Mirage MMS-2A Music Player Preview
Coming in at the same price as the debut of the original MMS-2 ($1995 MSRP), the new Mirage MMS-2A Music Player supports high-resolution audio, adds a solid state drive for increased storage capacity, and includes USB and coaxial digital outputs all in an elegant new 1U rack-mountable form factor. Making it an even perfect choice for discerning audiophiles, the MMS-2A is a fanless design for silent operation.
Autonomic took feedback from some of its key dealers and produced the new Mirage MMS-2A music player. The MMS-2A is designed for one purpose: recreate and deliver reference quality high-resolution audio. It does so via three independent streams, making it perfect for multi-room installations with up to 96 zones. The MMS-2A is a cloud-based media server, and so it will store, sync, schedule and stream your entire music collection alongside online services such as Pandora radio, Rhapsody, TuneIn Radio, SiriusXM Internet radio, Slacker, Napster and even Spotify.

Mirage MMS-2A Music Player is Solid State
To top it all off, the Mirage MMS-2A music player includes a solid state drive, known to be not only silent, but rock solid in their reliability and fast media browsing and access speed. A 1U rack-mountable chassis (and the fact that they included the rack ears) means that the MMS-2A is a true custom installation media streaming solution.
Another powerful feature of the Mirage MMS-2A Music Player is its cloud synchronization which brings music from multiple locations into a single browsable collection that you can access from anywhere you can get online. There are also two AirPlay receivers so you can have guest computer or device streaming. Finally, Autonomic’s TuneBridge technology (which is patent pending) makes it a simple mater to explore, discover and listen to your favorite music styles and genres. The MMS-2A is available with pre-programmed modules to integrate with all of the major control systems like Crestron, RTI, Control4, Elan, AMX, and others.
If that’s not enough, the Mirage Media Controller app for iOS and Android devices or the integrated Airplay control and Mirage Web Interface can help you get started. Autonomic is initially pitching the Mirage Audio System with either 2 or 5-stream base packs leveraging the MMS-2A and MMS-5A music players. You can also pick up 16-zone packages or 4-Zone, 2-Stream packages. The bottom line is that you can really customize and tweak the Mirage system from an entry level configuration all the way up to the full 96 zone support.
Autonomic plans to ship the new model starting June 2, 2014. This model replaces the MMS-2.

What is the current price to purchase an MMS 2A music server. My last one is not working on my Savant System.
Is it usual for one of these to quit working after 4 years?
