I Keep Having Problems With My AV Receiver, Which Should I Buy?
You’ve had a string of bad luck. Every receiver you buy has had issues. Not always the same issues, but it is always something. It’s so frustrating to have to deal with replacing an AV receiver every couple of years. Is there an AV receiver out there that doesn’t have so many problems that you can buy? Let’s discuss!
The Call is Coming From Inside the House
We’ve written a number of articles that address some of the problems you might have with an AV receiver. We’ll link a bunch at the end for your reference. This may help you track down why you’re having some of the problems you are having with an AV receiver that you’ve recently bought. While it is possible that you’ve bought a string of AV receivers that have all had problems, it is statistically unlikely. If you are experiencing failures with multiple AV receivers, then the problem isn’t the receivers, it is something else.
If you follow our links below, you’ll find that there are many different ways that the way an AV receiver is set up can affect its functioning. Like all electronics, AV receivers do not do well with heat. If you’ve consistently shoved your AV receiver into a small space, the heat alone will affect it negatively.
But You’ve Always Bought Budget Receivers
Plenty of people buy entry-level AV receivers. Perhaps they are on a budget, perhaps they have a modest system that doesn’t require a more complex AV receiver. Many would be tempted to think that a more expensive AV receiver would be more robust. More specifically, they believe that a cheaper AV receiver would be more prone to failure.
That’s not really the case. Any AV receiver you buy should not be more prone to problems than any other. Many people have entry-level AV receivers that work perfectly for years. The fact that it was less expensive doesn’t make it more fragile. If you are having multiple failures with your AV receivers, then buying a more expensive receiver isn’t going to solve the problem. Find out what is causing the failures first. Then purchase the receiver that best fits your needs.
