Yamaha RX-A840 Aventage Receiver Preview

The Yamaha RX-A840 Aventage Receiver updates the already impressive RX-A830 with built-in WiFi and HDMI 2.0/ HDMI 2.0 is a big upgrade because it adds in support for transmission of the upcoming 4K 60p “ultra HD”signals that were hoping make their way to living rooms shortly. This update to the Yamaha RX-A830 keeps the rear panel largely untouched save for the wireless antenna connection and a few relocated connections (The RJ45/Ethernet port has jumped sides, for example). It’s really Yamaha’s integrated wireless networking that makes this an incredible upgrade—especially for a product retailing for less than $700. The HDMI 2.0 support will  make this a popular product for those who want to be nearly “future-proof” in the event that 4K really starts to take off. This surround receiver is almost guaranteed to excite Yamaha fans and even cause a few upgrades for those who want to begin streaming audio in their home theater but haven’t been able to figure out connectivity.
