EarFun Air 2 NC Earbuds Mini-Review – Just the Facts!
Normally, I take my time with a review to really get to the meat of a product. We want to let you know the good, the bad, and the just so-so about your potential purchase. With the EarFun Air 2 NC earbuds, we are going to skip all that and just run through the facts. I recently reviewed the EarFun Air Pro 4 headphones. In short, I loved them. They had great sound quality, long battery life, great fit and finish, and some quality-of-life features that I adored. They also cost about $90. The new Air 2 NC headphones clock in at $20 less but have a lot of the same features. They look similar, sound almost the same, and have the same app. Obviously, to hit that price point, they will be missing a few features. Can you save a few bucks and go with the EarFun Air 2 NC or should you get the Air Pro 4? Let’s discuss!

Cosmetics and Case
As we compare the EarFun Air 2 NC and Air Pro 4 headphones side by side, we see that they look quite similar:
The earbuds are almost identical in form and feel very similar in the ear. That means that all the good things I said about the Air Pro 4 about the fit and comfort still hold true with the Air 2 NC. The biggest difference you’ll notice between the two is the case.
The Air Pro 4 has a clamshell case that gives you full access to the headphones while the Air 2 NC case opens from the top. The Air 2 NC headphones slip in via the posts and you need to grab them by the top to retrieve them. If there is one big knock against the EarFun Air 2 NC, it is the case. The magnets that hold the earbuds in the case are a little too strong or the earbuds sit a little too deep. Either way, getting the earbuds out is a bit of a chore at the best of times. If your fingers are a little wet, you can bet on having a hard time getting them out. I was cooking the other day and washed my hands before grabbing the headphones. I literally had to ask one of my children to get them out for me because I couldn’t with even slightly damp hands.
Sound Quality, Connection, and Charging
EarFun continues to impress with the sound quality of their earbuds. If you are looking for earbuds that can get plenty loud but still stay reasonably accurate, EarFun has something for you. For $70, the Air 2 NC also have a plethora of ANC (Active Noise Canceling) options:
In addition, they have a white noise feature that they seem to be testing out. It allows you to pick a white noise profile to block out extraneous noises that the ANC misses. I can see this being very useful on long flights or for those who are tired of listening to the same songs over and over again. The onboard EQ has a number of presets as well as a custom mode. If you want a different sound profile you can certainly find it with the EarFun Air 2 NC headphones.
The Bluetooth connection was about on par with the Air Pro 4 headphones. I’ve had headphones with stronger connections to my phone but these were certainly adequate enough. The earbuds charge quite quickly and brag a 9-hour lifespan (probably without ANC engaged). The specs say that the case supports inductive charging at the time of this review. That must be a misprint or a copy/paste error as the review unit certainly doesn’t. Like the Air Pro4, the EarFun Air 2 NC has all of the controls in the app on the front page making for a comically long list of commands.
EarFun Air 2 NC Controls
Lastly, I’ll touch on the Air 2 NC controls. Like the Air Pro 4, these are controlled by capacitive touch. Unlike the Air Pro 4, the Air 2 NC don’t have the distinctive concave indentation to let you know you’ve hit the right part of the headphone. While this isn’t a dealbreaker by any stretch, it was a quality-of-life change that I didn’t enjoy.
All that said, the controls of the Air 2 NC were responsive and fairly accurate. While not quite as rock solid as the Air Pro 4, they were on par with offerings from other manufacturers as this price point.
Take Away
The EarFun Air 2 NC earbuds are certainly good headphones. Sonically they are as good if not better than other headphones at this price point. Plus, they are packed full of features like tons of ANC options, customizable EQ, long battery life, and even built-in white noise generators. The question you need to ask yourself is if the $20 extra dollars for the Air Pro 4 is worth it? I’d say yes. The case is easy to use, the headphones have built-in in-ear detection that the Air 2 NC are missing, and the inductive charging on the case works. In my mind, that’s worth $20. You may feel differently. With all these facts, you can now make a decision that works for you. Happy shopping!
