Marantz claims that its entry-level PM5005 integrated amp is the first budget product to offer current feedback architecture (typically found in much higher-priced products). Current feedback architecture delivers very fast and accurate signal handling for reproducing a pristine and precise sound stage. The MArantz PM5005 integrated amplifier looks identical to the PM5004 except for some very slight modifications to the IR receiver (for the new remote control) and knob design. There’s also a new low-power and automatic stand-by mode. Power is spec’ed at 55W per channel into 4 ohms. An all-metal black chassis and front panel serve to dress the unit up, giving a the amplifier a high-end look while reducing vibrations. For vinyl lovers, an MM phono equalizer is included and you can enable Source Direct to bypass all tone controls and get a clean signal from the analogue inputs to the outputs.
