Marantz NA6005 network player Network Streaming Players

Marantz NA6005 Network Audio Player

If you love high quality stereo audio, then you might already have a good quality system for playing back CDs, DVD-Audio discs, and SACDs…but what about newer high resolution streaming media files? The just-introduced Marantz NA6005 Network Audio Player takes care of that too, and it looks like a great streaming device to handle your existing and future HD audio files. For those who may already have the matching PM6005 amplifier and CD6005 CD player, the NA6005 is the next logical addition if you also want access to your high definition digital music collection. While a lot of attention is paid to getting the best quality from disc formats, high resolution audio files also play an increasingly large role in stereo music systems. With a device that’s capable of handling the proper formats without losing any of the detail or resolution, you’ll really help your entire music collection come alive. In addition to streaming high resolution audio, the NA6005 also throws in Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth technology on board (though without the apt X codec).

Marantz NA6005 front

Marantz NA6005 power supplyOn the front of the unit is a USB input that lets you directly connect a smart phone or tablet for charging or playback, and built-in Bluetooth will give you a rudimentary way to stream audio from devices which may not have AirPlay or be able to otherwise connect. An optical digital input also means that if you happen to have a TV or legacy audio device nearby, you can allow it to get in on the action, and benefit from the onboard DACs. Similar to its flagship predecessor the NA-11S1, and the higher-end NA8005, the new NA6005 inherits a lot of reference class technology but at a lot less cost. Marantz made the cabinet very stiff, even bolstering the power supply and double chassis. The NA6005 also includes a high quality Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC (digital to analogue converter). The audio circuitry also uses Marantz’s exclusive HDAM and HDAM-SA2 in a hybrid configuration to deliver low noise and greater dynamics.

You can connect the Marantz NA6005 via the built-in Ethernet port or via Wi-Fi, allowing you to stream your own audio files or connect to literally thousands of Internet radio stations or music streaming services like Spotify Connect. Apple Airplay is also onboard, so users of iTunes or those with an iPhone or other iOS device and seamlessly stream music to the player. DLNA 1.5 support means that PC users aren’t left out either and any attached device over the network can send files to the NA6005—be they on an NAS (Network Attached Storage) device or computer. Nearly every known audio file type is uspported, including WAV, WMA, MP3, AAC, DSD 2.8MHz/5.6MHz, FLAC 192/24, WAV 192/24, AIFF and ALAC. Getting high resolution files to the Marantz NA6005 Network Audio Player is not going to be a problem.

A large front display and easy-to-use remote means that this robust media player remains simple to operate. And if you want even more advanced control, you can download the free Marantz Hi-Fi Remote App for access to even more music stations, podcasts, and documentary channels.

The new Marantz NA6005 Network Audio Player hits the market in February at a selling price of just $649.

Hi, Clint. There is something that is not clear to me.
Using a PC, is it possible to listen to music, that are in the HD OR by a WebRadio ( TuneIn, Accuradio) by the NA6005 by WiFi (or is it necessary to conect the PC to the NA6005 by a USB or analogic cable) ?
Today, I conect my PC to the amplifier aux input by a P2 X 2RCA cable and listen to TuneIn and Accuradio sites or MP3 musinc in my HD.
    Thanxs for your attention.

    • Most of these receivers are not designed to connect to a laptop via USB, but rather a smartphone or tablet. The NA6005 has AirPlay, however, so you can stream from iTunes or Spotify, etc from the laptop to the receiver. It also can DLNA stream files from your laptop, and some laptops may be able to broadcast audio to it via Bluetooth.

I want to buy the Marantz NA6005 for listening to Internet radio web broadcasting in FLAC (high BitRate) but I saw with regret the specifications of the 6005 (manual) that supported formats only for Internet radio are:
    WMA
    MP3
    MPEG-4 AAC
So the Marantz 6005 (such as the 8005 also ..) does not support the FLAC regard to the internet radio .. !!
Obviously for reading normal FLAC files is provided along with other formats … What then? I want to listen to Internet radio broadcasting in FLAC and this seems not … You can correct me if I’m wrong ..!

Hi can anyone help; I bought the NA6005 a month ago now and was wondering does anyone know or is it possible to pair a set of bluetooth headphones to this device as it always says look in the device you want to connect and enter a pass code of 0000 problem is my headphones asks for the same code, therefore it looks as though the unit will only receive bluetooth and not transmit bluetooth audio.
is this correct or am I missing something or even perhaps I can link both devices on a PC? HELP!!! please……
